In the fall of 2003, DFiVE9 traveled to Radio Star Studios in Weed, CA to record with multi-Grammy award winning producer, Sylvia Massy Shivy.
She had produced platinum records for such bands as Tool, System of a Down and Powerman 5000. It was one of the first times, the band and newly
acquired bassist Keith Foster began to bond into what is DFiVE9 today.
After a week of intensive recording, the Demo 2004 was done. It included Charlton Heston, Priority One and Ball Gag. Three other songs had been
worked on during that time, but it was decided that the original three were the most coherent snapshot of what the band was at the time. The other songs
went on to become Me, Myself and I, McKenna and Addictions.
The demo has never been officially released. There are several hundred copies sitting in record label offices around the world, as well as a 1000 copies
Jagermeister was kind enough to give the band to distribute as a sampler at our shows. We had no idea of the demand that would occur for those samplers. As we begin
preparations to record a new full-length album that will include these songs and more, we are scrambling to get
additional copies of the sampler-CD for our fans. As a result, they can't be purchased on-line. If you can make it to a DFiVE9 show, you might be able to
get one at our merch booth if we receive more. We will let everyone know as soon as we have them!
